Jen and Tyler’s adventure elopement in Maui was absolutely incredible – helicopters, a beachside picnic, waterfalls, and then vows at 10,000 ft on Haleakala – how could it have been better?
Well instead of me boring you with the details of Jenn and Tyler’s adventure elopement photographer in Maui, I’ll let Jenn recount the day for you! She says it best anyway!
How did you feel when we were planning your adventure elopement? Why did you choose Maui? And why me?
I was so nervous and felt so overwhelmed trying to plan the day I had been dreaming about since a little girl. I knew I wanted everything to be perfect, as we all do. I kept contemplating a big wedding with all the bells and whistles and having all our loved ones there. Then when I started digging into it. The cost was absolutely ridiculous…. and for what?… stuff and props that didn’t really matter. So, I started researching. I knew I wanted to honeymoon on Maui, then I came across you, Angie. And your AMAZING photography skills! I started following you on Instagram, reading all the comments, and reviews. No one compared! And believe me, I spent a good year on this! I reached out to you, made the biggest decision of my life that day, and went for it! Was I nervous… YES! But you reassured me it was all taken care of and will be spectacular.
We decided to invest in you, on a trip about us, and spend the day of our wedding as an adventure. And you did just that! You made our day so special, and stress-free, and it was better than we imagined!! I’m still blown away and very thankful you set up our picnic on the beach!!! You knew I wanted one so bad and made it happen. Not only that made it even more special with our video wishes. It brings tears to my eyes every time I think about it.
I’ve heard from other friends, that their wedding day turned into more about other people than them. And they barely even saw or spent quality time together on their day. I’m so glad we chose to do it our way and invest our money into an adventure, instead of stuff and making it about us. We spend the whole day, just us two, and met our close loved ones at the end of the day for our vows and wouldn’t have done it any other way. NO REGRETS!!
My favorite part of my adventure elopement in Maui
Idk if I have a favorite part of our day bc it was all so magical!! Your team was absolutely perfect!!
Donna was so personable and my make-up and hair were perfect! As I was definitely nervous about that, bc I’m very picky about my hair.
I’m so glad I took your advice and went with colors for my bouquet!! You were NEVER wrong about anything.. like you know what you were doing or something… LOL! It was again, better than I could’ve imagined! And our cake… I have you to thank for this as well! Even on short notice, you helped make it happen, and was perfect!! So delicious too!!
The helicopter ride over an island, seeing turtles and whales… a dream. Hiking through a rainforest in a wedding gown & heels!? Who does that!? We do!! I have to say those were some of my favorite shots along with Haleakala. Driving up above the clouds on a dormant volcano. HOW EPIC!!! Vows close to God, our first dance, and eating our cake on Haleakala! I mean WOW, WOW, WOW!!! Hiking through the crater… it was out of this world! There wasn’t one bad picture that day. We would not have got these shots having a normal big wedding. These were will cherish for a lifetime. And the memories.
I didn’t want the day to end! It was more than perfect. It was a real-life fairy tale come true! And I have you to thank for that!! We are so blessed to have found you!
You couldn’t have done a better job, Angie! Tyler and I felt so comfortable with everyone the whole day. Brea and Caleb were a hoot! Peter was perfect for our vows, so personable. There was no awkwardness at all. I would recommend this to anyone. If you are worried about not including family and friends…. this is your day! Not theirs…
What advice do you have for other people choosing to elope on Maui?
if I can give any advice at all, make it about you two! You only get one day and it goes by so fast. If they want to be a part of your day, those ppl will make it happen. Trust me! You do you boo!
Our wedding album and portraits are one of a kind! You’ll not find anything better than Angie’s. That’s a PROMISE! Do not hesitate, choose Angie all day, every day!
I can just ramble about how AMAZING you made our day, YOU are as a person, your coordinator skills, and your photography skills… WOW!!
As a bonus – here is the incredible video by No Ka Oi Media!
Jen and Tyler – Thank you for choosing me as your Maui adventure elopement photographer. Your day is absolutely what dreams were made of. It couldn’t have been more perfect and I feel honored to have been a part of it all!

Haleakala Wedding I first touched based with Lydia and Pascal back in October last year. Lydia had stumbled across my Kaupo Wedding that I did in 2016 and loved the feel of it! Lydia and Pascal were obsessed with the wide open vistas and raw beauty of East Maui. But it seems that Maui had…
This adventurous Kauai elopement wasn’t always supposed to be on Kauai, but this Maui photographer turned Kauai wedding photographer wasn’t going to complain about island-hopping to celebrate Nate and Justine! After the August 8 wildfires that devastated Lahaina, I found myself on the phone with Nate and Justine – feeling out our options and figuring…
Oneloa Beach Wedding in Kapalua, Maui There were so many little things I absolutely loved about this Oneloa Beach wedding (Ironwoods Beach in Kapalua). First: the dress. Simple. Sparkly. Fit Krystal perfectly (and she was five months pregnant!). And the back too! So elegant and beautiful! Second: speaking of the five months pregnant thing –…
When Abby and Mike approached me about capturing their day as their Hawaii elopement photographer, they had one request: they wanted it to be more than just your typical wedding photoshoot. They wanted a day filled with meaning, adventure, and unforgettable experiences. And let me tell you, their Maui elopement did not disappoint! We kicked…
Emotional Maui Beach Elopement These two had a 200-person wedding planned, and after struggling through the stress of hunting for a venue, whittling down the guest-list, and adding up all the costs, they decided that an emotional Maui beach elopement was just the thing for them. I had actually done their engagement photos last year. …
In the wake of the Maui fires, Erica and Preston chose to pivot their wedding to the Garden Isle of Kauai. We planned this wedding in under a week and I felt so fortunate to be their Hanalei wedding photographer. Erica and Preston have this magnetism to them. It’s a quite and nuanced adoration for…
