If you know me at all, you know that color is my jam. I love weddings that are full of color, joy, and personality. And that’s exactly what we got from Stephen and Kelli’s Colorful wedding at the Maui Pineapple Chapel!

From the Flower Brigade (a bunch of professional dances are flower boys – are you kidding me???) to the epic rainbow and off-the-chain dancefloor, this is a wedding that I could photograph over and over again and never get bored.

There were so many fun and sweet moments during this day – but I’ll let the photos and Kelli and Stephen’s testimonial speak for itself!

More about Kelli and Stephen’s Colorful Wedding at the Maui Pineapple Chapel

1Tell me about your thoughts leading up to the wedding, did you think about it growing up, did you plan it together? How did it feel to make your choices and marry one another?
Along with the excitement of our upcoming special day, we were going through the stress of not only planning it twice but also maneuvering through the rise of covid cases and constantly changing safety guidelines. In the last month before the big day we began to give in to a ‘come what may’ attitude and tried to focus on the fact that no matter what might happen, we would be there with our families and one another. That was all that really mattered in the end.

2. Why did you choose the venues you did?
We had picked out the Maui Pineapple Chapel (originally the Steeple House) because it sat on the bluff above Kapalua Bay, it’s one of the most special places on earth for Kelli. The setting of the venue was humble but elegant, perfect for the day we had envisioned.

3. What was your favorite part of the day?

Other than start to finish, these were a couple of our favorite moments. Right after our ceremony a light rain came through, it cooled things off a little but also gave us a gorgeous full rainbow over the ocean; two good omens to start out our marriage! Getting to see all of our friends from around the country join together in an all-out dance party was something else that was beyond special, but we also appreciated so much the little escape from the party with Angie when we had our sunset photoshoot.
4. What were your favorite details and why? (dress, suits, flowers, etc)

There were so many amazing details, large to small; our florist was just perfect in the character she gave the space, the backdrop for our ceremony and reception, the food, the CAKE!! They were all amazing but what made it so much more special was the support we had from our planners and professionals that had worked with us so closely to make sure it really came together for our perfect day.
5. Why did you choose me as your photographer?

When we saw Angie’s portfolio there really was no question that we wanted her as our photographer. The mood and atmosphere that she seemed to be able to capture were exactly what we had been looking for. After our first meeting with her, we could tell that her personality matched and that we wouldn’t need to worry about the outcome.
6. Do you have any wedding advice for couples getting married in the future?

Kelli: Don’t let the little things stress you out and take time on the big day to look around and enjoy the moment because it goes by so fast.
Stephen: Be honest about what you want for your big day but be patient and flexible with the changes that might happen. Sharing the day with your favorite person and celebrating that love with your closest friends and family is what you’ll actually remember.
