Erin+Jake: An Adventurous Engagement Photography Session in Maui
Erin and Jake were one of the winners of my Adventurous Couples Contest that I held back in May! They were eager to use this session as their adventurous engagement photography session, as they will be getting married in 2015 in Maui!
Erin and Jake met in Law school, of all places, back in Florida. Even though Jake is born and raised in Maui, he actually attended high school in Illinois–then college in Florida. There he met this gorgeous red-headed bombshell Erin. They quickly fell in love and after graduation Jake made a pretty gutsy proposal: move 4500 miles away from all of your friends and family and come to live in Maui with me!
Erin, of course, said YES!
So here they are, on a rock out in the middle of the ocean, planning their wedding that will unite Maui and Illinois and Florida. No complaints from them though 🙂
We began our adventure on the Road to Hana–specifically at the Huelo Outlook: a darling fruit stand with a bunch of character. We got one of the local boys to crack open a coconut for us, which was great for “nervous sipping” and some belly laughs.
Before I inundate you further with more pictures of these two love birds canoodling, let me just say that the chemistry between these two is palpable. They absolutely adore one another and were so fun to take pictures of. Capturing the sweet and silly moments between couples is my absolute favorite.
The next stop was the Rainbow Eucalyptus forest. I just can’t get enough of these trees!…well, and the couple too!
After stomping around in the tall grass and weaving between the eucalyptus, we made our way down into the bamboo forest. The water wasn’t as clear as we had been hoping, but the brown water actually gave it a more earthy and warm tone, which I loved.
Erin and Jake: Thank you for trusting me to take you on an adventurous photo venture on the Road to Hana! Congratulations on your engagement and thank you for entering my contest!
