When we first started chatting about their big day, Ola and Parker originally had a small, two-hour beach elopement. But after considering what kind of event they wanted for their vow exchange, they decided that an intimate Hyatt Maui wedding would be a better fit for them.
Ola’s something blue when she was getting ready was her ankle brace supporting her recently sprained ankle. I tried to encourage her to wear her flats for the wedding day, but she was really sold on wearing her heels. I didn’t understand until it was time for their first dance. This was my favorite first dance I’ve ever seen. She told me there was a special first dance, but I had no idea that I was about to see something that was “Dancing with the Stars” caliber. They were so graceful together.
It was clear that their friends and family were enamored with the dance too. My favorite was Parker’s mother who was clapping with her mouth agape the whole time. After their first dance, they shared dinner together under a beautifully lit oceanside farm table. You could even hear the waves crash as the first course was served.
Their day was infused with simplicity, love, and sharing the day with the people who mattered the most.
Ola and Paker – thank you for choosing me to be your intimate Hyatt Maui wedding photographer. What a beautiful day it was and what a beautiful couple you are. Congratulations!
