Every once in a blue moon I run across a group of people I’ve felt like I’ve known my whole life. Christi and Rob’s joyful Westin Maui wedding was exactly that kind of event. Their day was infused with joy, love, emotion, and a super fun dance party. Christin and Rob were so down to Earth and and real I felt like I had known them my whole life.
Getting Ready at the Westin Maui
Christi and Rob had rented the presidential suite over at the Westin Maui Kaanapali. I absolutely loved this for several reasons. First, while Christi got ready in the big suite, Rob was just three doors down the hall. As a photographer, this makes getting ready photos so easy to capture! I can bounce back and forth between the two rooms and really document the getting ready process.
Second, the cover shot from this wedding was taken from their balcony of the presidential suite! Check out that view! It was unbeatable!
The Wedding Ceremony at Maria Lanikila Church
I really do love this sweet little Catholic church in the heart of Lahaina town. it is sparsely decorated, which I love because I don’t feel that it detracts from the ceremony at all. It also stays relatively cool, which is impressive considering it’s in Lahaina, one of the hottest places on Maui!
During the ceremony there were so many moments of tenderness and emotion. But my favorite part was when Christi and Rob included Sienna, Rob’s daughter, in the ceremony. They presented her with a beautiful necklace and made a promise to her that they would always support and love her in their union. It truly was special.
Westin Kaanapali Wedding Reception
This event was flawlessly designed by Bliss Wedding Events and Design. I loved all of the little details they included like customized playing cards, yard games (there was even a nationally ranked cornhole player there!), and a dessert table that my mouth watering! The speeches, the dancing, the laughter – this truly was a joyful wedding. And even though it was a full day wedding for me, I left feeling recharged and so thankful to have been a part of their day.
