Don’t worry; I gotchu. I have photographed weddings at nearly every wedding venue in Maui and am happy to walk you through everything!

THE 25+ MOST POPULAR MAUI WEDDING VENUES

What are the best Oceanfront Wedding Venues?

1. Olowalu Plantation House
This is hands-down my favorite wedding venue on Maui. Not only is it oceanfront and you can enjoy watching whales during the months of December-April, but you can also listen to the ocean crash along the rocks as you say “I do.” There are endless options for portraits and setups for ceremonies.

2. Kukahiko Estate
This is my second favorite wedding venue on island. It’s a small estate that’s best suited for weddings of 50 people or less. With an amazing lava rock jetty to get 180-degree views of Kaho’olawe and West Maui. When the surf is up, it’s my absolute favorite.

3. Merriman’s Kapalua
My favorite happy hour place on the west side of Maui is also one of my favorite venues. You can rent the entire deck, or get married on the small lawn to the left of the restaurant. They have great food and beverage packages as well making it an easy choice for a couple wanting a view and great food.

4. Sugar Beach Events
One of the few indoor/outdoor venue spaces on Maui that isn’t a hotel! Located in North Kihei, expect some wind with your wedding, but rest assured that you’ll love this spot because you’ll never be hot!

What are the best hotels for Maui weddings?

1. Andaz Wailea
My favorite boutique hotel on Maui is also a great spot to tie the knot. With a ceremony lawn just steps away from the reception area, it takes the guesswork out of how to get your wedding guests from point A to point B. And have I mentioned that the Andaz is my favorite Maui hotel?

2. Hotel Wailea
This is the only hotel in Maui that is adults only. Don’t worry – you can still have your wedding and have children present – they just can’t stay at the hotel. With an amazing sunset lawn for large ceremonies and a bonus treehouse area for tea ceremonies or intimate dinners, Hotel Wailea is one of my favs.

3. Wailea Beach Resort
While there is no beach directly in front of this venue, there are lots of lava rocks and Wailea beach is just a short walk away. There’s also an amazing spot for a ceremony between two large trees on the property that is my favorite.

4. The Four Seasons Maui at Wailea
If luxury is your goal, the Four Seasons has you covered. With three different areas to have your wedding, there is something for everyone. And, of course, Wailea beach is right there for those sunset portraits.

5. The Westin Maui
The Westin offers beach-side weddings, though it’s important to note that you cannot get married on the beach, or take photos on the beach, that fronts the Westin

6. Hyatt Maui
Also located on the Ka’anapali stretch, beach photos are prohibited, but there is a small garden on the grounds that are beautiful for portraits

7. Fairmont Kea Lan
The Fairmont Kea Lani fronts Polo Beach in Wailea and has a really beautiful lawn that is semi-private for weddings.

8. Kaanapali Beach Hotel
Again, this one is off of Kaanapali Beach, but it has a great little lawn for weddings and the sunset views are spectacular.

9. Hana Maui Resort
Located in remote Hana, this venue has amazing views of the ocean (situated on a cliff above) and is one of the more private venues when it comes to hotels.

10. Sheraton Kaanapali
The Sheraton has a large lawn that’s great for weddings and tends to be a bit more private than other Kaanapali hotels because it’s located on the end of Kaanapali Beach.

11. The Grand Wailea
If you want to get married in the cutest little sea-side chapel, look no further than the Grand Wailea. While the resort is rather busy, the chapel is super cute and beach access is very easy.

Upcountry and North Shore Maui Venues

1. Haiku Mill
Dripping in everything green and lush, the Haiku Mill in Haiku is something ripped right from a fairytale. The space needs little dressing up as it’s beautiful as is, but if you’re looking for luxury meets jungle, this is the right spot for you.

2. Calasa Olive Farm
Think Spanish olive farm meets upcountry Maui. Secluded and upscale, you really feel like you’re in Tuscany in this upcountry Maui venue.

3. Ali’i Kula Lavender Farm
At 4000 ft. elevation, the lavender farm in upcountry Maui is a hidden gem. It’s quiet, picturesque, and nice and cool. The views of Maui are epic too!

4. Hui No’eau Visual Arts Center
This one often flies under the radar, but I love this expansive property just outside of Makawao town. There’s an old mill area to get married, a large reception lawn and reflecting pool, and some really cool monkeypod trees!

FAQs

Prices vary between $500 and $8000 depending on the day of the week, amount of guests, and the number of hours it is needed for. I encourage you to reach out directly to venues to see their costs!
For more popular properties like the Olowalu Plantation House , I recommend booking a year to a year and a half in advance. Other venues you can book on a shorter time frame – but if you want first crack at dates, a year out is a good rule of thumb!
Most Maui wedding venues are pretty open about their policies when it comes to outside shooters. Vendor lists can be compiled in several ways. Some vendors have to pay to be on the venue’s list and some venues will charge you extra to bring your own vendors on board. It’s best to ask your wedding venue about this upfront so you don’t get any surprises later on!

Most venues here on Maui have space for a tent in case it rains! And some venues, like the Steeple House at Kapalua, have a built-in indoor space in case you need to move festivities inside!

The most common issue I run into is the rules applied to Kaanapali Beach in Lahaina. It is illegal to conduct commercial activity on the beach. This means if you are getting married at the HyattSheratonWestin, or any other venues on Kaanapali, you cannot have photos on the beach!
