The day began at St.Joseph Church in Makawao. We had bright blue skies and a light breeze. This was a welcomed change from the stagnant and stormy weather we had been experiencing in the days before this intimate Ponomakena Sanctuary wedding.
The Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony began at St. Joseph Church in Makawao. A close family member of Sebastian’s did the ceremony, which was infused with laughter and moments of tenderness. It’s not often we get to shoot in churches in Maui, so I loved that it was a bit different for me too!
The Wedding Reception
After the ceremony, the guests were shuttled to Ponomakena Sanctuary in Makena. It’s about an hour or so from the ceremony site. I love a good Pono Makena Sanctuary wedding! There’s wide open grassy fields, palm trees, gorgeous light, and lots of room for dancing, dining, and celebration!
Veronica from Your Aloha Wedding did an amazing job of creating a classy, simple, and elegant style to Sebastian and Michelle’s day. I loved the infusion of golds and white roses used throughout the decor! I also loved the farmhouse tables that made everyone feel so connected and close to one another.
Another highlight of the day included: fire dancing by manutea nui e. There was also a grand entrance with birdseed, amazing jams by DJ Del, and epic dance party to follow!
Sebastian and Michelle – I loved being a part of your Ponomakena Sanctuary wedding. I just love that you have so many friends that came from all over the world to celebrate with you! Congratulations and thank you for allowing me to be your Maui wedding photographer.
Thanks to our awesome vendors for making this happen!
