Romelynn + Zach | Maui Honeymoon Photographer
These two. This might be my favorite honeymoon session yet. Zach contacted me a few weeks ago wanting to find a Maui honeymoon photographer to take pictures of him and his wife as they celebrated their marriage here on Maui.
Since the inception of their relationship, photography has always had a special place in their hearts.Romelynn and Zach met in high school. She was the TA for Zach’s photography class and Zach was immediately smitten by her. Romelynn wasn’t so convinced at first and it took some smooth talking by Zach, but eventually she conceded to go out with him.
From there, their love grew for one another and before they knew it, he was proposing to her on the top of Haleakala in Maui. Their wedding was a simple and sweet courthouse wedding. She wore a black dress, Romelynn calls black her happy color, and he adorned a fully black suite. On their fingers were a black diamond ring and a simple black wedding band. They celebrated with backyard reception with friends and family.
When thinking of honeymoon destinations–they only had eyes for Maui. It’s where their off-beat love story began and wanting images that highlighted the top of the mountain (where he proposed) to the their toes in the sand, they knew they needed to have some honeymoon photos done on Maui.
We began in Makena where Romelynn and Zach sipped on a fresh coconut before heading to Maui’s black sand beach, Naupaka Beach. Because Romelynn’s favorite color is black, it only made sense to get some images of this place. Red rock walls and black sand adorn this secret Maui gem. From there we went even further south to where the lava rock met the ocean and the sand was soft and untouched.
The night finished with a pastel sunset and even though Romelynn loves black, she couldn’t help but have her breath taken away by the spectacular colors in the sky.
Zach and Romelynn: Thank you for choosing me to be your Maui honeymoon photographer. I loved spending time with you both discussing photography, The Walking Dead, and OITNB 🙂 Safe travels back to Washington!
