SWEET BEACH ELOPEMENT IN MAUI
Megan and Alex came all the way from Canada to tie the knot on a beach in Hawaii. Before we locked in the date, we made sure to set up a Skype call so I could touch base with them and learn more about their vision for the day. I find this part of the process so important as they’ll be re-living their wedding day through my images!
Alex and Megan wanted to do a first look. Her dress was a complete surprise – and to be honest – I was so surprised too! Lindsay, of Maui Makeup Artistry, actually sent me a text that said “wait until you see her dress!” And let me just say. I was swooning. And I don’t use that word often as I feel like it’s over-used in the wedding industry. But seriously. This dress had SO much personality to it and it truly matched Megan! For those of you wondering (I received a ton of Insta messages asking who the designer was) – It’s Chantel Lauren Steel Blue Mae Skirt with a custom top.
First Look for a Beach Elopement
Anyway, we chose a more tropical place for their first look. We wanted something that would have a different look and feel to it than their beach elopement would. Both Alex and Megan were a bit emotional at first, but it wasn’t long until the laughs began. We did a quick set of portraits on the beach path before heading over to Po’olenalena Beach where their ceremony took place.
The ceremony was simple and sweet. Chrissy Kapoor did a great job of infusing her personal wishes to the couple into her ceremony. There were a few tears, but mostly smiles. After the ceremony, we spent the rest of our time together on Po’olenalena beach. We didn’t get much of a colorful sunset that night, but I really loved that the sky and the ocean matched her dress. And really, you just can’t go wrong with a sweet beach elopement in Maui, right?
Megan and Alex – thank you for trusting me to take beautiful images of your sweet beach elopement in Maui. You two are gems.
