Tropical Wedding at Olowalu Plantation House | Katie + Peter
Tropical Wedding at Olowalu Plantation House
This sweet Midwestern couple, Katie and Peter, traveled from Wisconsin to Maui to tie the knot. They chose to have an intimate ceremony with only their immediate family and a few friends in attendance. The couple wanted to make sure they had a tropical wedding at Olowalu Plantation House, but one that stayed true to their love story.
They describe themselves as simple people, no frills. To stay true to this, they wanted their ceremony to be simple and about them instead of about all the details. Katie and Peter may call their Maui wedding simple, but I thought it was just perfect for them. Every design choice fit just right for the type of wedding they wanted. The sleek white chairs. The small wedding party. The lovely, and understated, flowers. I imagine this is the wedding Katie always wished for.
One of my favorite moments of the day was watching Peter stand between rows of palm trees, gazing out at the ocean, waiting for Katie to come out. He hadn’t seen his bride yet, and when Katie, in her gorgeous wedding dress, finally gets to him, the way he looks at her melts my heart!
We decided to stay on the property to take their romantics. The night was gorgeous! We had a beautiful sunset that lit up the West Maui Mountains. After the sun went down, Katie and Peter headed to Duke’s Beach House in Ka’anapali where they had their reception. What an amazing day these two had!
Peter and Katie, thank you so much for choosing Angela Nelson Photography to capture your tropical wedding at Olowalu Plantation House! It was wonderful to be a part of your love story on your wedding day!
