Wailea Beach Resort Wedding

The day Haley and Chris’ Wailea Beach Resort Wedding was nothing short of magical, despite a few unexpected twists.

The wind, though a little extra on that day, added some fun and humor as it played with Haley’s veil. We are used to wind here on Maui and I’m so grateful that Haley and Chris embraced it instead of being bothered by it.

I felt that one of the most heartwarming moments of the day was Chris’s first look with his grandfather. We don’t often see first looks with anyone other than parents, so this was really special to witness.

Changing Maui Wedding Venues

What makes Haley and Chris’s wedding at the Wailea Beach Resort even more remarkable is the grace with which they handled a significant change of plans. Originally set to exchange vows at the Westin in Kaanapali, the Lahaina fires that ravaged West Maui on August 8 forced them to make a quick venue change.

But instead of letting this unforeseen circumstance dampen their spirits, they embraced it with grace and flexibility. Postponing or canceling the wedding never even crossed their minds. As someone who had to navigate other wedding cancellations, I was so grateful they decided to move forward.

And you know what? I was grateful that White Orchid Wedding was at the helm and helped guide them to the Marriott in Wailea. To be honest, I prefer that venue anway! With breathtaking views of Kahoolawe and Lanai, plenty of lava rocks to add an extra element of natural beauty, and the soothing sound of the ocean waves, it couldn’t have been more idyllic.

Night Photography and their Grand Exit

As the day turned to night, the celebration continued, and I was lucky enough to capture one of my favorite shots of 2023. After spending some time tearing up the dance floor, I pulled Haley and Chris away for a stunning night shot with the stars and the moon as the backdrop. It was pure magic, and I’m so grateful to have been a part of it.

And if you’ve ever been to a wedding with me, you know I never show up without my trusty bubble gun! So, of course, we had to end the night with a grand exit surrounded by bubbles. It was the perfect way to cap off a day filled with love, laughter, and unexpected beauty.
